- Our collections are sourced from Europe, Brazil, US and Asia. Asia is the largest exporter of furniture in the world today. Asian factories are using top design firms from Europe to design & develop their own product lines. We carefully select our suppliers and we only offer products from manufactures that keep a direct, quality-conscious, Indian hand in their off-shore operations. These are people we know and can talk to if there's ever a need.
- Why do your prices seem high?

- You will always find someone who will charge less and someone who charges more. We believe that our products are of a much better quality at prices lower than actual retail. Our whole endeavor has been to bring quality products at the most affordable prices possible. We’ve carefully chosen products which not only look good but are also built well, function better and last even longer. Customers’, who get to use our service & furniture, understand the difference immediately. Do not let price be your only deciding factor. As John Ruskin said – “It is unwise to pay too much, but it’s also unwise to pay too little. When you pay too much, all you lose is a little money. But when you pay too little, you stand a chance of losing everything, because the thing you bought is incapable of doing what you bought it to do. The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot – it just cannot be done. So, when you deal with the lowest bidder, it is wise to put a little something aside to take care of the risk you run. And, if you do that, you can afford something better “
- That being said, sometimes the price may simply be out of the ballpark due to an oversight. That only confirms we are human & bound to err occasionally. Should you encounter this issue or find our product at a much lower price elsewhere, email us a stinker that you had to do our job & we'll thankfully make amends instantly.
- Now for those of you who truly desire our services but are experiencing genuine financial constraints, do not worry. Contact us and we will try to ready a list of other affordable resources. Yes we understand this means referring to a competitor but we’d rather you go a competitor feeling good about us than not.
- What is your lead time?

- All in-stock items will be shipped out of our warehouse within 48 hrs of order confirmation & receipt of full payment.
- We will maintain low inventories of some of our products initially & strive to increase stocks as we progress. Until then most of the products will remain special order.
- For special order items, please allow anywhere between 8-10 weeks. While we usually deliver ahead of time, there are several factors in International trade beyond our control and by understanding this, it is better to be prepared & plan our schedules accordingly. We'd rather Under Promise and Over Deliver rather than otherwise.
- Do you charge for Shipping?

- Shipping is free for all deliveries within Bangalore city
- Until we automate the shipping costs, please contact sales@theurbandecor.com for a shipping quote outside of Bangalore.
- Do you ship internationally?

- We do ship internationally. However please remember that unless the order value is around $10000 or your volume is close to at least 10-15 cbm, the shipping costs will be too high. Please contact sales@theurbandecor.com with your complete requirement including delivery address for an International shipping quote
- What are the materials used in your furniture ?

- Most of the wooden furniture are all made using MDF or Medium Density Fibreboard covered with natural wood veneers in different finishes - Oak, Cherry or Wenge. MDF is an engineered wood product formed by breaking down softwood into wood fibers, often in a defibrator, combining it with wax and a resin binder, and forming panels by applying high temperature and pressure. It is much more dense than normal particle board. MDF has many advantages over plank wood, particleboard, or high density fiberboard. It's very smooth because the wood fibers used in its manufacture are uniform and fine. Today factories prefer using MDF over regular timber because it has a lower impact on the environment.The Environmental Impact of MDF has greatly improved over the years. Today MDF boards are made from a variety of materials. These include other woods, scrap, recycled paper, bamboo, carbon fibers and polymers, steel, glass, forest thinning and sawmill off-cuts. New raw materials are being introduced. Straw and bamboo are becoming popular fibers because they are a fast growing renewable resource. MDF is also easier to machine than natural wood and can be laminated, veneered and painted to produce almost any board finish
- Our outdoor furniture use Aluminum, Stainless Steel & natural teak in some cases as mentioned in the product pages. Our products use 1.5mm thick Aluminum for the chairs & other products. We use only 304 grade stainless steel & solid teak from harvested teak plantations
- What is the warranty for your products ?

- All our furniture except for gifts are shipped with standard 1 year warranty against any manufacturing defect.
- Are the Modern Classic furniture Authentic Signature versions?

- When searching for Mid-Century Modern Furniture, you undoubtedly have encountered a wide gamut of offerings, from a variety of manufacturers. They throw around the words “Original”, “Knock-off” and “Reproductions”. In particular, Knoll speak about how they own the rights to the “Barcelona” chair, or Cassina about the Le Corbusier couches and Herman Miller about the Eames Chair. What should be made clear is they own the rights to using the name Barcelona or have an agreement with a historical foundation to market under a particular name, but they are not making an original production design at all, just their version of it.
- The mid-century modern classic furniture pieces that we offer have reached a state of “Public Domain”. This allows us to reproduce these items to the specifications of the original design, but not to be an exact replica. We are committed to duplicating the original designs of the Bauhaus / Modernist Classic Era as close as humanly possible. Our factories take exacting measures to replicate the original design and use only the finest materials and craftspeople available. The end result is a high quality piece which exceeds the manufacturing standards of the original. All at a value that is in keeping with the original designers’ intent of bringing high quality furniture to the consumer at a price that is accessible.
